Taste the Best wines in Michigan Lawton Heritage Center, Sept. 6, 2007 6:30pm  Click here for more info on the Heritage Center.Every year the Best of Class and medal winning wines from the Michigan Wine and Spirits Competition gather at the Lawton Heritage Center in Lawton, Michigan for a walkaround tasting. The event, hosted by the Lawton Lions Club, is my favorite wine event of the year. Michigan's best wineries from all around the state gather for an evening of wine, food and music in celebration of the past harvest and anticipation of the harvest ahead. This is a great opportunity to meet several winemakers and taste the best that Michigan has to offer in one room...a room that happens to be the site of Michigan's very first winery. That's right, the Heritage Center was once a winery and now hosts a great winemaking museum. We will be pouring our medal winning wines, which happens to be all of our wines.
