![]() Not obsessed... ...intensely interested. Visit the Village Web SiteBuilding a winery indicates obsession. To make the line more trite, we are doing it on a beautiful, 64 acre parcel of Traverse City once known as the Northern Michigan Asylum. But circles are circles after all. We found a space in the old laundry facility of the last surviving, intact, Kirkbride inspired hospital campus in the U.S. It is perfectly suited to fermenting wine. They built buildings to last back then. This place is all concrete, brick, steel, and glass. The light inside the building is remarkable. Tile floors, big ceilings, lots of electricity and lots of windows shaded by old trees. There's a creek in front and the hiking trail is right outside the door. The best part is that we are not alone. There's a whole communtiy here. Doctors, bakers, chefs, lawyers, artists, merchants, coffee cuppers, homes, dogs, trees and kids. A village. The Village at Grand Traverse Commons. See if you can find us. Be part of the rest of the story. Find the "Left Foot Where" page for directions and hours. |
