No More! Pinot Grigio, it is your turn to take the mic and play us your tune. Pinot Grigio was discovered amongst its Noir sisters probably by accident. The two are so closely related that Noir mutated into Grigio way back when. Fortunately some alert vineyardist planted a cutting and gave birth to this elegant variety. It is fast becoming one of the most sought after white wines and Michigan grows Pinot Grigio like no other. Grigio combines a shade of its Blanc potential and a hint of its Noir lineage in one glass. The aromas and flavors are distinctly white - blossoms, apples, pears. The texture though reminds us that it came from a red. The subtle tannins and spicy sensations are birthmarks from a noble red family. We are trying to let both show through in this wine. It is subtle and graceful and dry. I like it at the beginning of the party. Keep it cool, keep it flowing and smiles will light up your room. Wine Geek Techno Speak: 12% Alcohol pH 3.43 TA 7.5 g/l 0.5% R.S. 440 cases bottled |
